Armadale, Serpentine National Park and Mandurah
After a sleep in this morning, we tackled the traffic of
Perth with the caravan. Our first stop
was in Armadale, to visit the stone fruit orchards – ripe peaches at great
prices and so juicy! Next up was
Serpentine National Park for a walk.
When we got there the two main walks, Kitty’s Gorge and Baldwin’s Bluff
were closed due to the very high fire danger – no great surprise given the
temperature was 37 degrees at 10am! We
did a short walk to Serpentine Falls, which was quite pretty.
After this we drove to Mandurah – this is a
very developed beachside area with plenty of traffic and paid parking. While we were driving, the air temperature
dropped ten degrees in ten minutes and the afternoon was far more comfortable
than the morning. We have camped for the
night at Mandurah Caravan and Tourist Park, which thankfully is well away from
the town area. After a late lunch we set
up camp and then had a sleep and a swim.
