Lake Thetis, Hansen Bay Lookout and Nambung National Park
We then
had a look over the beach near Cervantes from Hansen Bay Lookout – the water
was a great variety of colours due to different depths and different types of
seagrass affecting the colour.
We then
went to the Pinnacles Discovery Centre in Nambung National Park – apparently
the pinnacles come and go from the visual landscape as the sand dunes cover and
uncover them over time, but no one actually knows much about how they are formed. We then took a walk amongst the pinnacles
(1.2km, 30 minutes), followed by a drive through the pinnacles – an amazing
landscape, so truly desert and yet only a few minutes drive from the ocean!
From here we headed south, taking a few
detours to admire the remains of the wildflowers.
We stopped in at Yanchep National Park for Hayden to look at the koalas, we may return here another day to look a bit more and tour the cave.

We arrived in Perth in the late
afternoon, we are staying at Karrinyup Waters Resort for at least the next
week. After dinner we all had a short
soak in the heated spa – lovely!
