Kitty’s Gorge Walk, Serpentine National Park
This morning we packed down and headed north to Serpentine
National Park.
We finally got to walk
the Kitty’s Gorge Walk (14.7km 4
hours). This was a quite uphill walk on
the way out (and thankfully downhill on
the way down). Some parts were a little technical – steep and uneven under foot
– but most was on good paths. The path
of the river over the boulders was very pretty in some parts. We were fortunate enough to see at least
twenty red tailed black cockatoos – awesome!
We had a late picnic lunch and then drove to Dwellingup. We visited the Forest Discovery Centre – a
small display on the history of the area – and got a map of this section of the
Bibbulmun Track and information on Lane Poole Reserve.
We have camped at the Nanga Mill campground
in Lane Poole Reserve. We finished the
day with a swim at The Stringers – a lovely way to end the day.
