Cape Arid National Park
Thomas River in Cape Arid National Park was today’s
destination.
We walked along the Tagon
Coastal Trail.
This travels west along
the coastline from Thomas River, and as with so much of the Southern Ocean, it
was picturesque. The waters are crystal
clear, the sand very white and fine.
This walk took in Dolphin Cove, Little Tagon Bay and Tagon Bay.
Some of the walk was through the bush, some
on sand, and some involved jumping from one large boulder to another with deep
cracks between. The plant I found most
interesting appeared to be a form of weeping banksia. We had a late picnic lunch back at Thomas
River, then drove to Esperance to buy our last Christmas supplies and arrange
accommodation for Boxing Day evening.
When we got back to Lucky Bay we went for a very refreshing swim. After dinner, I made some more of the food
ready for Christmas Day!
