Toolbrunup Peak, Stirling Range National Park; and Hyden
This morning we set out to climb Toolbrunup Peak – not the
highest mountain in the park, but most definitely a difficult one! It was 5km
to the top and back, with the first half up hill on uneven ground. The second half was scrambling over large
rocks and around boulders. The views
were truly amazing – no clouds today!
This was the toughest 5km I have walked on this trip by a long way (it
took three and a half hours), but completely worth it.
After a picnic lunch, we packed down and headed north. We have stopped for the night at Hyden – off to see Wave Rock in the morning.
