Fitzgerald River National Park – Western End
This morning we explored the western end of the Fitzgerald
River National Park.
This involved a far
bit of driving, most of which was on dirt.
Our first stop was Sepulcralis Hill, where we climbed to the
lookout.
The lookout at Mount Maxwell
was a short walk, and I am glad it was as the view was not impressive.
We then climbed West Mount Barren, which gave
360 degree views of the national park and beyond. There were also large
quantities of wildflowers present, even this late in the year.
The Heritage Walk
went along the remains of the Rabbit Proof Fence No 2, which originally ran
from the ocean at Point Ann, heading north.
The views of the coastline along this walk were again incredible.
Another beautiful day (minus the flies and
wind)!
