Cape Le Grand National Park
Last night was incredibly windy! Today started with a very
invigorating swim in Lucky Bay – certainly not sleepy after that, but felt
great after I warmed back up. We were
fortunate enough to see kangaroos (adults and juveniles) eating the seaweed on
the beach. After breakfast, we took a
walk along the full length of Lucky Bay and then up over the headlands until we
were looking down onto Rossiter Bay. By
then the temperature had warmed up to 35 degrees and the flies were amongst the
worst we have had on the entire trip!
The beaches however are still incredibly pretty and provided you don’t
know the water temperature you could mistake the scenery for a tropical
paradise.
After lunch we swam at Lucky
Bay again, and once again we could watch the kangaroos eating seaweed on the
sand. After a laze around, we drove over
to Hellfire Bay to look at the beach.
As
we drove across, clouds were forming rapidly on the mountains on that side of
the national park as the wind came in from the sea; and then billowed across
towards us, casting crazy shadows on the road.
After dinner, I started making some Christmas treats!
