Dillie Gorge, Grevillea Gorge and Mt Glemont, Charnley River
Wilderness Camp; Gibb River Road
We started early today, and it was an amazingly cool 24
degrees still at 7am. Our first
destination was Dillie Gorge for a paddle – this was quite a pretty and
relaxing paddle in a canoe (provided as part of staying here).

There was a short walk to the top of the gorge and then we climbed down a ladder to the first pool. After walking along the gorge for a while we descended through what would be three large waterfalls in the wet season, but just had a trickle coming out of the rocks currently. The pool at the base of this was beautiful. As we had the pool to ourselves, we all enjoyed a swim. The water was quite cool, giving a pleasant tingle to the skin. This was amongst the prettiest gorges for me. The climb back up was actually easier for me than the climb down, but both required some effort. On the way back we went to Mt Glemont for a look out over the surrounding countryside. We spent the last part of the afternoon doing our journals and reading some of the books at the reception area.
