Week 7 from Hayden

Week 7 from Hayden (10yo boy)

30/07/16
Today was a school day.  After that we went swimming in the springs.

31/07/16
Today we packed down and drove to Pine Creek and bought the book, The Gnole.  Then we drove to Mt Bundy Station, I went on a 30 minute horse ride around the station.  We also had a swim.

01/08/16
Today we drove to Butterfly Gorge.  On the way there we went through a really tough 4WD patch.  It was worth it though because the rock pools in the Gorge were amazing.  Then we went to Douglas Hot Springs, it burnt me.

02/08/16
Today we drove to Wangi Falls in Litchfield National Park.  We had a swim at the rock hole there.  it was cold at one of the waterfalls at the rock hole, but the other one was really warm.  I slept in the tent for the first time on the trip.

03/08/16
Today we went to Walker Creek and had a look around.  Then we went to the Tin Mine and got a tour from one of the park rangers.  Then we went to the Cascades and had a swim, it was cold.  Then we went to Florence Falls and had a swim.  I went under one of the waterfalls.  When we got back I could see the wild fire.

Today we went to the magnetic termite mounds and did the tour there.  I found out they only eat grass and that red ants invade the older termite mounds.

05/08/16
Today we packed up and drove to Berry Springs and had a swim, it was warm.  Then we drove to Darwin and stayed at a place called Hidden Valley Resort and Tourist Park, it is big.
