Darwin, here we come!
Again this morning everything was covered in ash, there was
even ash floating inside the car when we were loading it to depart. Unfortunately, the Lost City is still closed
due to the fire, so this will have to wait for another trip. Instead, we headed for Berry Springs, another
warm spring flowing into a creek and large deep waterholes. https://nt.gov.au/leisure/parks-reserves/find-a-park-to-visit/berry-springs-nature-park When we put our
togs on we found that even our togs smelt of smoke! The Springs were beautiful to relax in and we
all enjoyed a soak. This travelling is a
hard life, I am getting calluses from my thongs!! After a picnic lunch we drove to Darwin – we
are staying at Hidden Valley Tourist Park which is next to the main Naval Base
at Coonawarra. https://www.hiddenvalleyholidaypark.com.au/ We did a complete setup,
including Hayden’s tent as we will be staying here for more than a week. We then did some urgently needed grocery
shopping and treated ourselves to chicken and gravy rolls for dinner followed
by chocolate ice-cream.
