Very different weather today, as forecast. Cool , very overcast with light showers. Just after we got up we saw rain out to sea so hurried to get the tent down and had all our things under the shelter just in time for a brief shower.

Marion showed up at camp just as we were leaving (she had taken a day in town yesterday as the fire danger was extreme and this leg is in forest). We saw lots of kangaroos near the sheep farm and a few in the eucalyptus forest. It was a long slow climb up a gravel road through the eucalyptus forest to Three Ways. Then past plantation timber and spacious private residences.

The track passes through private property for an extended period but feels like national park. There was a gate to climb to enter this area.

Milanesia Beach was quite wild but the creek we had to cross was almost non existent. Steep climb down to and then up from the beach, followed by another steep down and up. The deepest gullies had small wooden bridge at bottom. There were lots of blackberries including ripe ready to eat ones. The terrain continued steeply up and down to the next campsite. Some sections were just steep gradient, some with spaced retaining wood or rocks and some steps. One section had multiple staircases with railings. We had one small shower of rain that put dots on our glasses, but not enough to need to clean them off. One section was steep enough off to the side (ie vertical) that National Parks had put up a guard rail. Considering the terrain we have been on with no such protection that is saying something about the risk.

Excellent view from the campsite lookout - would be amazing in clear weather. We saw a Parks Victoria ranger who was checking the campsite toilet and water. One great feature of all the campsites on this walk is that they have a shelter with wind protection and a full map of the walk on the wall.  Great for discussing things with other camps and planning.

At dinner time temperature 15 degrees but feels like 9 according to BOM app, with expected overnight minimum of 12 degrees.  Yesterday evening I was getting around in a bikini, this evening thermals, puffer jacket and a beanie with rain jacket and pants to stop the wind - somewhat of a change !
