Most of today’s track was like walking on a good country road; wide, firm and easy walking, through undulating open countryside.

At the former Yimbun Station hundreds of young trees have been planted and will provide a shady oasis in years to come. From Yimbun Station to Toogoolawah it is open country and we faced into a head wind.
The 14km section from Harlin to Toogoolawah would be approximately to the showgrounds. Unfortunately the showgrounds were closed this week due to the annual show. Toogoolawah is a long town set out along the railway line., the town extending around 2km. The centre of town, where the free camp is, is more like 15km from Harlin. The rail trail through the town is concreted with LED lighting and is used as a thoroughfare for locals commuting, walking their dogs etc – wonderful to see it so well utilised. We have camped for the night at the free camp adjacent to the old Toogoolawah Station. There are toilets a short walking distance away, and drinking fountains on the rail trail. We headed to the local IGA to stock up on supplies for dinner and tomorrow.

According to our internet research Toogoolawah Pool is open, the signs say entry via the gym, but the gym is only via a pass- no luck here. We also had a look at the outside of The Condensary, it being closed today.
