Our intentions for this trip
were to see some of South Western Queensland, but primarily to learn our setup (2007 Toyota Prado Diesel with 2004 Jayco Dove Outback) and discover what works and what we wish to change before our long trip later
in the year. After leaving home mid-afternoon we went to the service station to
check tyre pressures – just as well as they required pumping, particularly the
spare tyres which were very low. We then
went to the weigh station to see how our packing arrangement worked out – we
needed to move some of the weight further back in the camper trailer, but
otherwise it was all good. There is
plenty of room and weight to spare in the car. We then drove to Dalby and
stayed at the Dalby Tourist Park. We left
the camper trailer connected to the car – plus side of this is basic set up and
food heating in the microwave within thirty minutes, down side is Waeco is hard
to get at.
