Final School Day!!

Today was a school day – geography, geography and geography; and a geography test!  Hayden finished around mid afternoon.  We then topped up on groceries and filled the van with water.  We had an early dinner of PIZZA to celebrate Hayden finishing school.  Hayden then had a swim with some other kids and an hour or more playing with their lego – Hayden has really missed his lego – all up a good way to finish off the school year.

One Mile Jetty, Fascine and School Day

This morning we had a school morning, and Hayden had a PM benchmark reading test via Facetime.  After lunch we went to One Mile Jetty with the plan of exploring the lighthouse keeper’s museum, railway museum and fishing from the jetty.

The lighthouse keeper’s museum was closed and looked quite disappointing from what we could see, the railway museum was not impressive and the jetty was very run down.  Overall, disappointing; although the coastline is very pretty.  Next we headed to the aboriginal cultural centre, but it appears to have closed.  We drove along the Fascine to see where the trawlers come in, and then took Hayden to the playground again.  He now has blisters on his hands from using the flying fox so much.

School Day

I started the day with a run. Today was a school day.  We spent some of the day at the library, however we won’t do this again as they have no area with tables and chairs for working at, no free internet and apparently wishing to use an atlas was a strange request. After school, we all relaxed in the van as it was very, very windy outside – none of us felt like being out in it.

School Day

Today was a school work day – not many to go now, he is making great progress.  After school we went to the Fascine (waterfront in Carnarvon) where Hayden enjoyed a great play in the playground.  It was a terrific playground with things for all age groups, as well as a long flying fox.

School Day

This morning Drew took the car for a service, as we have clocked up another 10 000km.  Hayden had a school work day.  We spent the afternoon at the library.   When we got back to the van park for a swim, it was to find out that the pool was closed for the afternoon – so disappointing!

Maintenance and School Work Day

We started today with a special breakfast for Hayden’s birthday, albeit delayed. Today was a catch up on things day, haircuts for all, washing and cleaning.  Hayden spent the day doing school work.

Today was a shortened school day for Hayden.  I started the day by wandering around the campground taking photographs of some of the wildflowers – delightful!

School and Maintenance

This morning while Hayden was doing school work, I started getting organised for tomorrows departure from Broome – exciting things like washing and groceries!  Again we spent the majority of the day at the library, and finished with a swim.  Hayden has been really enjoying throwing a ball with Drew at the pool each afternoon and getting out his frustrations.

Today was a school work day.  The weather today was quite different to what we had been having, with quite a bit of wind and cooler temperatures.  Again we finished the day with a swim.

This morning I went for a run – running here is weird, going out is hot and slow, coming back you have a head wind, but because it makes it so much cooler, it is actually easier.  We spent most of the day at the library again, doing school work.  Hayden has finished Term 3 and is getting a head start on Term 4.

Today was a school day again.  The weather here was very humid and overcast – we however spent the majority of the day in the library’s air conditioning.  This afternoon we once again, relaxed with a swim.

Today was a school work day again.  Drew and I did odd jobs while supervising. This afternoon, I gave myself a pedicure. Once again we all enjoyed a swim at the end of the day.

This morning I went out for a short run – my first in ages.  We spent the morning at the library doing school work again.  The afternoon was spent on school at the caravan park, followed by a swim.

Today we spent the day doing odd jobs and supervising school work.  As Hayden has been out of internet range for some time, he has a lot to catch up on.  We spent part of the day at the library.  After school we all headed to the pool for a swim.

Prepare and Organise

Hayden had his other school day for the week and got through his work promptly.  Drew topped up our food supplies and petrol before our departure from Mt Isa tomorrow.  I washed everything in preparation for departure, and cooked up some treats while we have access to a large spacious camp kitchen.  I also got one of my continuing education exams completed.  Hayden has really sore stomach/core muscles from his major workout at the Family Fun Park yesterday.

Lazy afternoon, nibbling chips, reading and painting my toenails. After dinner we climbed up to the hill behind the caravan park which gave a great view.  Plan is to get up early to pack up and be away for our long drive to Tennant Creek tomorrow.
