7 December - Mt Lindesay, Monkey Rock and Mt Hallowell

7 December 2016 – 198 009
Mt Lindesay, Monkey Rock and Mt Hallowell

Today we climbed Mt Lindesay – it was a solid climb with the most amazing views!  Despite the cloud and smoke the views were awesome through 360 degrees.

After a picnic lunch in Denmark, we drove to Lights Beach.  The power of the ocean was on full display here and the noise of the wind was incredible.
The last walk of the day was to Monkey Rock, which had great views; and then on up to Mt Hallowell, which had even greater views.  Part of this followed the Bibbulmun Track again and travelled through some lovely forest, there was however quite a lot of recent wood and tree fall on the track – no surprise given the wind.  The views from the top of Mt Hallowell were quite spectacular.  We are all quite tired and hungry tonight.

4 December - Mt Pinderup, D’Entrecasteaux National Park and Denmark Sights

4 December 2016 – 197 530
Mt Pingerup, D’Entrecasteaux National Park and Denmark Sights

This morning we packed down and headed to Fernhook Falls – unfortunately these were closed due to fire.  So, onwards to Mt Pinderup – a short sharp climb with a great view at the top.

We then went into Walpole, the visitor information centre was very helpful.
We have camped for the night at Ayr Sailean – a lovely farm option with beautiful rolling green pastures, and we have the place entirely to ourselves.
After setting up, we drove on to Denmark.
Stop one was “a bit on the side” a toffee and cider factory, with an amazing variety of sauces.  My favourite was the chocolate grand marnier sauce and the peanut brittle toffee.
Stop two was Swiss Annie’s Fine Chocolates – oh so good!
Stop three was the Denmark Berry Farm – which was closed at 4pm despite the sign saying open 11-5 weekends.
This renovator's delight was spotted along the way - some TLC needed!
