During the night we could hear kangaroos and there were plenty grazing around the campsite on waking.  This morning’s walk began with a short section of single track followed by five or more kilometres of fire trail, the first part of which is quite a steep climb.  The crest at around the 5km mark provided text coverage with Telstra.  Continuing along the fire trail we can to a sign that advised “great walkers” to stop and turn around.  Going back approximately 50m there was a sign we had missed to leave the fire trail, however it was 2 to 3m off the trail.  National Parks have wisely realised this is easily missed when leaving a fire trail to single track and have put up the second sign – very grateful!  Once on the single track we were amongst long grass, up to 4 foot high in places.  Overall the track was less technical today, but still with some technical patches.  The last three or four kilometres of the day was in a sandy creek area, with a lot of bird life and different types of foliage.  There is a suspension bridge just before the campsite – this is very bouncy with the extra weight of the pack.  Today was relatively exposed.  The campsite is large and peaceful, and accessible by 4WD.
